Speaker BiographyIan Glendon, Ph.D.
Dr. Glendon is Associate Professor in Griffith University’s School of Psychology (Gold Coast, Australia). He has held visiting positions at Queensland University of Technology, the Chinese University of Hong Kong, and the Chinese Academy of Sciences Institute of Psychology in Beijing. His research interests include driver stress/behavior, OHS/risk management, and safety climate/culture. He has supervised 22 RHD students to completion and has over 100 publications, including four co-authored books. He has consulted for over 60 clients on OHS auditing, safety culture/climate analysis, accident/incident analysis, task analysis, and human error/reliability analysis. In 2003-4 he was an Expert Panel member for the NSW Special Commission of Inquiry into the Waterfall Rail Accident. He is a registered Psychologist in Queensland, a Chartered Fellow of the Institution of Occupational Safety and Health, a Chartered Occupational Psychologist (UK), member of several other professional bodies and President (2006-2010) of the International Association of Applied Psychology Traffic and Transportation Psychology Division. |
